Here you will find scrapbooking ideas. There's a ton of older posts that used the Cricut, but lately I haven't been using it much and well, my sewing machine is gaining more miles by the day.

2009 Revisited - and Blog Candy Too!

I hope that you enjoyed the 2008 trip down "Memory Lane" as I sure did enjoy the comments! It's fun and exciting to hear what everyone's first project was :)
This post will be the first half of 2009 as there was 150 posts that year, so I'm sure I'll find tons of favorites to share with you!
January 2009
This was back when I was with Charlie, and we were kitty looking, we fell in love with these two adorable kittens, Oscar and Maddison
I had a request for some other types of refrigerators, so here's a file for all your cooling needs!
And this was the first year that I made Lilly's Valentines for her Kindergarten class. The Hannah Montana cartridge wasn't out yet, so I found a stamp and went to town.. 2 1/2 hours on 10 valentines! Eeek!

And here you can download a PDF file of all the overlays for the Paper Doll Dress up cartridge. I originally did these for a friend who had just gotten her cricut.

February 2009 brought us CHA and the "rumor" of Design Studio Pro. 2 years later.. still no Design Studio Pro, but they did release the Gypsy over a year later. They also said that there would absolutely be no Paper Dolls 2 Cartridge.. Yet.. we did get Paper Dolls for Everyday (over a year later...)

Remember the Life's a Beach Fiasco?! That was the only Cartridge that I not only preordered, but paid "full" price for (I think it was like $55 or something) and I think I only used the cartridge ONCE.
And here were my Monster Truck Valentines for Lilly's Kindergarten Class

March 2009 brought us the story of Ron and his dog Kili, where we all pitched in an voted to help them win a years free of rent. Their video is still up on You Tube, so if you don't remember it or never got to check it out... head over there and do so! RON AND KILI VIDEO
They had won the public vote (with 34% of the votes) , which got them $50 credit towards rent, and then the final decision was left to a panel of 7. They did not win the grand prize, but they did get the President's Award, which was a prize that they created just for him. If I remember correctly he did get like 2 or 3 months for rent and Kili got a shopping trip at Pet Smart.

In April I had my first try of Glass Etching!

May was the launch of Let Me Show You How To Do That, which is still up and running withCapadia and Jen C It's an online class that shows you how to run Design Studio.

Photobucket

I also had a booth at the Bulbs to Blossoms sale in Clear Lake, where I sold many of my cards

And in June is when I first purchased the Sure Cuts A Lot program, and stated making a few SVG Files.
I hope that you have enjoyed your visit today!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now.. for the fun stuff! (wait.. it's all supposed to be fun right?!)
If you have made it this far.. then you surely deserve a chance to win! Blog Candy #2 is going to be... a set of Pink Spatulas from CGull.
All you have to do is leave a comment on THIS POST!
I like to use many different tools in conjunction with my Cricut. The Cuttlebug is one of my favorites. I also like to stamp and heat emboss.

What is your favorite tool / item to use to compliment your cricut cuts?

**please make sure you leave a way for me to get a hold of you yourname @ yourdomain works well (as long as you put the spaces in there!)**

Winner will be drawn on Sunday January 9th!

The CGull Spatula Set was especially designed to optimize your success and satisfaction with the Cricut and other cutting machines. These tools will extend the life of your cutting mats and save you time by making your cut shapes easier to remove. With different cuts and different projects come different needs. The CGull Spatula Set addresses those needs when maneuvering small, medium and large size cut outs.

I love that old Mustang in the last picture! So detailed! My favorite item would have to be my Zig 2-way glue. I use the wide one to make my mats sticky again and use the narrow ones for adhering all those tiny cuts made with my Cricut.

Ah yes...the Lifes a Beach cartridge fiasco! Great projects!

I've been following your blog for quite a while now and really love it. That spatula set looks very interesting. I use my basic spatula a lot but there are times when I wish I had something a little different. I can't believe it when I see people try to use their fingernails to remove their cuts.
I love my CB embossing folders to give texture to my cuts!

This trip down memory lane is fun. I only found your blog this last year so I missed seeing these posts. My favorite tool to use with my Cricut is my Bigshot. I had it before the Cricut came out and I use it to emboss with folders from various companies but mostly Cuttlebug.

Another fun post about two years ago and it made me smile to think about all that time for 10 Valentines! LOL
My fav tool to use with my Cricut is my Xyron to apply adhesive. I love that it makes a nice solid thin coverage on the back of my cuts.

That's a hard question but it's a tie between my cuttlebug and ink for edging! I've never seen pink tools... too cool!

I love the glass etching and I have to say that it is also my favorite thing that I have done. I made a set of 8 coffee mugs with some flowers and grass along the bottom and they turned out great (but I can't remember which cartridge I used LOL) Thanks for the trip down memory lane!

My fav. tool has to be the Xyron. The time before I had a Xyron to put glue on the tiny, thin pieces of letters was crazy! Now that I have a Xyron it saves so much time that I wouldn't know what to do without it. The Xyron and Cricut definitely go hand in hand :).

Fun, fun, fun to look back over all your projects! I have so many tools but my new favorite is called "Pick Me Up". It makes it so easy to pick up all those rhinestones we're using these days and place them right on the glue on your project! It was probably my least expensive tool too...less than $2.00! Can't beat that!

So as you are going back through all of these posts, I have noticed some familiar sites. The Cricut images you have posted from when Design Studio was brand new were some of my first downloads for DS. I bought it the day that it came out for immediate download and was scouring the internet for downloads. Those files have moved with me from computer to computer through the years. Thank you for all that you do!

So I just read about putting the fav tool....I actually don't use any tools with the cricut other than the absolute necessities like matte and blade...and of course cart. I peel the cuts off of the cart by hand, poke little holes with a toothpick, "clean" with a baby wipe, etc. Can't afford to purchase any of the accessories so I have to make due with what I have.
