Three Baby Cards

Wednesday, November 4, 2009

Three Friends of mine in my Scrapbooking Yahoo Group are pregnant, and expecting between January and Febuary! We had a mini "Baby Shower" for them, and I made the cards.
I was inspired by this post HERE by Scrapper1969 on the Cricut board. Carriage from NA, and pop dotted. These are all 5x7's.

Happy Halloween!

Sunday, November 1, 2009

First, I'd love to share with you Lilly's 1st Grade picture! Look at all those missing teeth!! LOL :)

And here she is, as a Fairy. She said she was Tinkerbell. We talked on the phone yesterday and she was in a parade at the mall and won the cake walk at the local fair grounds Halloween Party.
I am heading back to MN for the weekened on November 6th, so I am trying to get as many paper dolls made before then.. I'm also in the market for Hannah Montana, I think she would have a blast cutting those out! I'm going to bring my cuttlebug this time, and see how she likes it. If it's something that she'll easily be able to use all by herself, then I'll be looking for one of those too!

Halloween Card

Wednesday, October 28, 2009

Here's a Halloween card that I made tonight. I'll admit, it's not my *best* work, but I've been in a slump lately, so I'm just happy that I did something!
The brown paper is not part of the card.. just had to set it on something.
The Tree was a Free SVG from Scrappin' Out Loud (click name to go to blog post to download from her)
Size - 4 1/4 x 5 1/2
Then.. I found these foam shapes in my Halloween Box.. and well, instead of cutting everything out, I took the 'easy' route this time and just stuck a few on there.
The orange is embossed with Pumpkin Harvest Cuttlebug folder, and the Tree is embossed with Distressed Stripes.
The foam shapes also hold the branches down lol :)
Thanks for looking!

PDF and Excel List of Carts!

Monday, October 19, 2009

I totally revamped these this time around. These all have the new carts through the newly released mini carts. I have removed the 2 international carts, because they were not on PC's website (Keystone Int'l and Daisy Chain Int'l) Also added are the catelog numbers for each, and then a screen shot of the cartridge binder/packaging.

The fonts and shapes were getting kinda long, and when printed were tiny, so those have now went to 2 pages each. There are a total of 8 pages, and they are all included in each file. This is available in Excel and PDF.

Due to the time that it took to make these - from the typing, going through PC's website, and downloading and importing files, plus making sure that everything looked just right, I believe I spent a good 3+ hours on these - I am going to ask for a small fee of $1.50 each file. Just click the links below to be directed to paypal, and then you will be directed to a page to download once payment has been made.

Techniques !

Sunday, October 18, 2009

Been working on a swap the last few days - and here are the pages that I did! I can't wait to get them all back and learn something new :) Course, doing my own pages, I dyed skittles for the first time, and even learned "stretching"

Stretching Page - Title made with Don Juan, photo is just a random one I had in my collection that I took at the lake, and matted wtih DCWV Summer Adhesive Mat Stack

Distress ink - Inks Used - Background is Distress Ink Tea Dye by Ranger, and the strip is Antique Linen. Letters done with Stamped

Dry Wall Mesh - Letters cut from Mickey Font, Dry wall tape purchased at Menards. I matted my journalling, and then used my sewing machine to sew the journaling and the mat together. Used really pretty Gold thread too :)

Dying Skittles - Title is font TGIFriday's cut out with SCAL. I used Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks on aluminum tape to get the background for the lettering. I dyed clear skittles with Meadow, and put them in a baggie and adhered them to the page with a brad and paper flower. Flower stamp is Just Rite.

Gypsy Giveaway Scam

I normally don't make posts like this! However, when a fellow Cricut Friend has been wronged, I feel the need to "speak up" persay.

The site http://www.cartridgehelper.com/ was giving away a gypsy. They had a HUGE response - I think they said like 1,970 some entries....
They posted the winner on their blog... http://www.cartridgehelper.com/cricut-gypsy-winner/#comments and then.. Emailed ""SOMEONE ELSE"".
The person who was posted as the winner on the blog responded immediately - Barbara - you can see her comment on the above post...

Later that day... Cartridge Helper emailed her, stating that they made a mistake and emailed the wrong person, and that the person that they EMAILED would be getting the Gypsy.
Her name has been removed from the posting, but the "winner" has not been posted.

Sounds kinda fraudulent, maybe they didn't really have a G to give away, since no new name has been posted.

They have offered to BUY her a cart off EBAY instead. Claiming that they already spent $430 on the first Gypsy.
Here is Barbara's (the Blog Winner) post on the Cricut board http://www.cricut.com/messageboard/tm.aspx?m=5492609

I just want to make everyone aware of the activities of the Cartridge Helper, and if you get a moment, please comment on their blog if you think that Barbara should be the winner,
Since it was Cartridge Helper's mistake in Emailing the "Wrong" person (which , personally, I don't think there was an email.. I think that is just a cover up!)

I hope that this doesn't ever happen to anyone else!

Layouts from a Future Scrapper

Monday, October 5, 2009

As promised, here is the wonderful art work that Lilly and I created this weekend! She did 99% of the work - from choosing the images, Choosing the papers, putting the paper on the mat (which she thought was SO COOL that it was sticky.. and surprisingly, with the amount of times that she put her hands on it, "Look Mom, it's sticking to my hands" *giggle* the mat DID NOT loose its stickyness thoughout the day! We did a ton of cuts too!) Anyways, she pressed the buttons, scraped the images off the mat. All I did was cut the paper in half (or pieces when we used a few scraps up)

Here are the paper doll creations that Lilly made this weekend! She is the Mermaid and her sister is the princess. Notice where the waves are? The mermaid (Lilly) is happy looking at the princess (her sister) knowing that even they are in different 'worlds' (Lilly is moving to California at the end of the month.... While her sister will stay in MN) they can still see each other and are close by and they are friends. - Amazing (can't think of the word! - not logic, not theory, not tale.. C'mon help me out!) from a 6 year old

Fun Filled Weekend!

Saturday, October 3, 2009

This past weekend, I went up to my parents house. I am actually there right now as I type this! Lilly and I have been having a blast - we made tons of paper dolls, and she is an expert on the cricut now too! I told her to tell her Dad that's what she wants for christmas LOL :) We cut out the Princess, Bride and Groom, Pixy, Mermaid and Genie. Those pictures are still on my camera, and will post them once I get home. We also made pumpkins, spiders, Cats, skeletons and Ghosts and decorated Grandma's (my mom) house! So glad that I decided to bring my cricut! We have been having so much fun! Below is Lilly showing off her Cricuting skills. She was VERY good with the machine, and could figure out which buttons to press that matched the handbook. She is 6 1/2. (and she loves glitter glue.. used that on EVERYTHING. LOL)

Had dinner with my brother and his wife too tonight. And My dad decided that now was a good time to take some family pictures. (of course he could have told me that BEFORE I washed my hair LOL, it looks really flat in the pictures)

Below is Me, my dad, My mom, my brother Eric and his Wife Katie, and Lilly is in the middle.

And here is me and Lilly.
