Welcome!

YES! You are the right page! I just have a new name! :) After realizing that I do more than just scrapbooking, I've decided to change the name and will be changing the look.. I'd do a whole new blog but I'd hate to have to start all over.
Here you will find scrapbooking ideas. There's a ton of older posts that used the Cricut, but lately I haven't been using it much and well, my sewing machine is gaining more miles by the day.

Files are currently not available due to file hosting fees, please send an email to amkscrap @ gmail.com (no spaces) if you would like to request a file and I'll see if I still have it on hand.

2 things that really Bug me..

and I don't want to upset anyone. But I feel at this time, it should be said.

I really appreciate all those that follow my blog, and all those that get my email updates. But, these few little things have been bugging me for a while, and now I seriously am rethinking offering my cut files.

#1... MY NAME IS AMANDA. I'm not trying to be mean about it, but I'm not Amber. I'm not Ashley. I'm not Amy. It's Amanda. Maybe I should move the "About me" up to the top, that show's my picture, and it says Amanda K. I guess the way I am seeing it, is that I get emails saying "Great Job Amber" or "Thanks for sharing Amy" and I wonder if they know someone named Amber/Amy and they are getting us mixed up, or if they honestly forgot my name.

#2... Please leave comments. This makes me sad that 97 people did not hesitate to download my Monster Truck Cut File.. and only 2 people left a comment. Yet... when I offered blog candy.. all 3 times, over 100 people left comments. Pick Me!! Pick me!!!
I love sharing what I make - but I also love hearing others say "Good Job" or "That looks really nice".

Ok, I'll get off my soapbox. Feel free to comment below.

I've just started reading your blog, but I can understand what you are saying. My name is Patricia...I type the whole thing out every time and I say it when I introduce myself. I have never once introduced myself as Pat and yet others call me that...my big pet peeve! So I will make sure to get your name correct :)

As for blog candy, try this. Say you are giving away blog candy. When everyone starts sending in their pleas, ignore those...choose your blog candy winner from all the past comments that have been left (exclusive of those for more blog candy). When you award the candy, tell how you decided...see if it helps :)

Amanda,
I hadn't visited your blog in a few days and I see you've been busy creating those beautiful mail boxes and all. I just want to say that it is sad that people now a days don't show appreciation for people's gifts. What happened to the Golden Rule? "Treat others like you want to be treated." This world would be a far better place if people just practiced that simeple rule.

Cheer up! We love you and your wonderful talent.

I so understand where you are coming from on this Amanda (or can I call you Amber? :) You can imagine the names I get called with a name like Enfys!! Yes, the blog candy thing does draw in the comments, and they vanish like the snow in sunshine once the winner has been picked. Well, I think your blog is great, and really appreciate all your work and sharing.
hugs
Memphis (oops, sorry I mean Enfys :) xxx

Awe Amanda, I'm sorry that your feelings are hurt, but I TOTALLY understand where you are coming from. I VERY rarely download your files because I don't have a cricut, though I LOVE seeing all your work. I always try to comment when I come by though....in fact I do that to EVERY blog if I take the time to read it...I want them to know I was there! LOL. Nothing makes me happier than knowing someone came by and read my posts and I'm not talking to myself! LOL

I so understand and I have to apologize for downloading and dashing as I have done it. Sometimes I'm in a hurry and sometimes I just don't really know what to say. But I will, from now on, at least say thanks. Keep up the amazing work and I do love your blog!

I agree! I agree! I agree! We spend so muh time on our blogs, simply because we want to share. Just a little recognition would be nice, that's all we ask for. And about the blog candy...I have to hold my tongue there because it's just like a RAK...I have to agree with Patricia on that one. Anyhoo, thank you AMANDA, for all you do...you ARE appreciated.

Good morning Amanda I think your work is brilliant. People do not appreciate the time you must spend helping and sharing ideas with everyone. Please keep up your good work. Many thanks Irene

Your kitties are so cute, I bet they keep you busy now that they are home. I just love animals, especially Bouviers, my greatest love, but if i won a lottery, I would make sure that animals were helped out. Take care Amanda. I almost wrote Amber after reading your comment LOL

I agree with Patricia's comments to chose blog candy winners from regular comments on your work and cut files. I certainly appreciate all your hard work and comment so. Its like blog candy every time I visit your blog or get my email. Those are the first I open because I know you have something new to share. Not only talented by so giving to share your files. I hope all works out as I would very much miss your creations and your sharing. Just let that be our candy, we appreciate you. Thanks again Amanda.

Hi AMANDA :) I don't blame you for being upset. That would bother me too that someone can take the time to download but can't make an effort to get your name right. I know everyone is in a hurry all the time but it takes 10 seconds to type TFS! ,etc. I haven't had a chance to download the monster truck yet but I will tell you it is so awesome!! I love it...and appreciate all of your creative work and kindness for sharing. It's better to get it out than hold those feelings in! Have a nice day!

Amanda, The kittens are adorable... we have one that is 9 months old now. She still has that little kitten mind! :) We came home one day and found that she had jumped up onto my paper holder, pulled down a skein of yarn, (that I had moved there so it would be OUT of her reach) ran it down the stairs, through the banister and back up the stairs! We love her.
I'm sorry you're feeling a bit down today. Things are sure to get better. Thank you for continuing to share your talents with the rest of us.

Hi Amanda,

Sorry to hear that you are feeling a little blue today, but it is totally understandable. I really get annoyed with people who don't spell my name correctly or call me another name. It takes a few seconds to download your files, while its downloading one should at least say tfs, or nice job. All of your hard work is appreciated.

I think your cats are adorable. My cat Haley is 2 yrs old and still finds away to get into something...

Amanda, I'm sorry, I'm guilty of downloading and not commenting. I'm so sorry. I will try and be better! I LOVE LOVE LOVE your designs - they are fabulous! I hope you will continue to share your designs with those of us who are DS challenged.

I understand the name thing too, I have always been Nancy, not Nan or anything else. I would totally not like being called something totally different than my name.

Thanks again for sharing your designs. Nancy

Hi Amanda, Just wanted to say that you are right about your name for I've gone thru it many times people not using your real name....THAT BUGS ME AS WELL.....I get called Debi....that is one of my sisters and I feel that they really don't know my name AND YES AS YOU HAVE DONE!!!!! I TOO CORRECT PEOPLE ALL THE TIME...After awhile it gets old and now I have begun to correct them and I have a bad habot of asking them if they want me to get her on the phone for them....BAD I KNOW!!! But I'VE HAD MY SHARE OF THE WRONG NAME CALLING AS WELL.....HANG IN THERE...YOU DO HAVE FRIENDS LIKE ME THAT DO KNOW YOUR NAME.....HAVE A BLESSED DAY!!!! Brenda1958 Davidbrenda@sbcglobal.net

Amanda,
I have a question. I am new to your site. I have been here once before when I first got my Cricut Design Studio (I just got the Expression over the weekend :)LOVE IT) Anyways... I'm new to blogs in general. Could someone explain the purpose of the blog candy? Does it help your blog site to get more recognition if you have more posts?
I have only scratched the surface and so far think that your work is great. I appreciate all the hard work that you do and the talent that you share with us all. It just amazes me the stuff you come up with.
Thank you!!!!
